    Green saves Curbs' blushes

    24 Apr 2007 - 14:40:48

West Ham United goalkeeper Robert Green has confirmed that he suffered a dislocated finger in the 1-0 victory over Everton at Upton Park at the weekend.

The 27-year-old England international suffered the problem in a collision with Toffees midfielder Leon Osman, but stayed on to complete the game, much to the relief of Hammers boss Alan Curbishley, who hadn't named a keeper among his five substitutes.

Green confirmed: "It's something that happens in the life of a goalkeeper that you dislocate your finger every now and again.

"It just popped out under contact from Leon Osman. The quicker you get it back in again, the less painful it is.

"It was just one of those things, get the glove off quick and pop it back.

"That finger has come out several times at various angles, so as soon as I felt it go I knew exactly what I was doing."
