Gold fears 2012 'white elephant'

West Ham are in talks with Newham Council over a joint bid to occupy the Olympic Stadium after the 2012 Games.The club's co-owner David Gold has warned that if West Ham fail to secure the move, the Stratford venue will become "another white elephant". "More and more people are warming to the idea that we are the right route forward in taking over," added Gold.
