Gabbidon demands goals from mis-firing strikers
Danny Gabbidon has called on West Ham's strikers to up their game as the Hammers battle to avoid relegation.Avram Grant's side slipped to the foot of the Barclays Premier League table with a 3-0 defeat at Chelsea on Saturday. The scoreline flattered the champions and the Hammers had plenty of chances to score, the most notable of which fell to Robbie Keane, who blasted wide from eight yards to waste a golden opportunity to make the score 1-1 with 17 minutes left.West Ham have only scored four times in their current six-match winless streak and Gabbidon believes that must improve in their remaining four games if they are to avoid the drop."It seems the same old story that we never take our chances," the central defender told West Ham TV. "We play well and create and never get the result. So it is disappointing. We put in a lot of hard work and we had chances to score and when they had their chances, they took them."For long parts of the game we did well and 3-0 is really disappointing. I can't really take any pride as a defender from my performance as we lost 3-0 so I am disappointed."
