Dyer news stuns Hammers
04 Aug 2008 - 11:49:46
Reports suggest West Ham United midfielder Kieron Dyer has suffered a setback in his recovery from a broken leg that could keep him out of action until November.
The former Ipswich Town and Newcastle United star suffered the injury almost one year ago in a Carling Cup tie against Bristol City.
He had been hoping to make his comeback in the pre-season friendly against Ipswich but felt some pain in training last week close to where the original fracture occurred.
Dyer will follow a six-week rehabilitation plan and is unlikely to be ready for a first-team recall until November at the earliest.
Meanwhile, Shakhtar Donetsk have announced that the Hammers have signed Jan Lastuvka on a season-long loan deal.
The 26-year-old, who spent the 2006-07 campaign on loan at Fulham, played 25 games during a season-long loan switch to Bochum last term.
The former Banik Ostrava shot-stopper Lastuvka made 12 appearances during his time at Craven Cottage.
