Curbs seeking swift return
04 Sep 2008 - 08:33:47
Former West Ham United boss Alan Curbishley is hoping to make a swift return to Premier League management.
Curbishley, 50, resigned from his post with the Hammers on Wednesday after revealing his unhappiness at a lack of control over the club's decisions in the transfer market.
The long-serving former Charlton Athletic manager had been in charge at Upton Park for less than two seasons.
But despite the unhappy end to his spell with the Hammers, Curbishley is keen to make a quick return to management in the top-flight.
"If anything becomes available I'll be looking for that in the Premier League," he told Sky Sports News.
"That's where I want to be and we'll see if that materialises."
Meanwhile, Curbishley has defended his record at the helm of the east London club after he saved them from relegation on the final day of the 2006/07 season and led then to a tenth placed finish last term despite a long battle with a lengthy injury list.
He continued:"I'm a big boy, I've been around, I'm quite experienced.
"I just felt that this wasn't right. In the end I've had to make a stance on it.
"I look back at my time and no matter what people think, I've enjoyed it and I think I've done a good job."
