    Curbs rejects Parker claim

    05 Feb 2008 - 09:50:33

West Ham boss Alan Curbishley has rubbished reports that injured midfielder Scott Parker could miss the remainder of the season.

The 27-year-old has been out of action since damaging knee ligaments in the 2-1 victory over Manchester United at Upton Park on December 29.

Recent stories suggested the former Charlton Athletic, Chelsea and Newcastle United midfielder would be sidelined until next season, but Curbishley claims he expects the England international to return in six weeks.

"Contrary to stories this week, Scotty Parker is about a month or six weeks away," he said.

Parker has made just ten appearances for the Hammers following a £7million arrival from Newcastle last summer.

He suffered a previous knee ligament injury just two games into his West Ham career back in August and was sidelined until November.
