Andy Carroll Furious As West Ham Lose Red Card Appeal

West Ham United striker Andy Carroll has branded the FA a disgrace after the East London side's appeal to go rescind a three match suspension was rejected today. Carroll made his frustrations clear on Twitter leaving his 19,000 followers in no doubt of his emotions with one word- "DISGRACEFUL!"

Andy Carroll was dismissed during the 2-0 win over Swansea City at Upton Park by World Cup referee Howard Webb. The England striker received his marching orders after clashing with defender Chico Flores who made the most of the incident to say the least, by holding his face and rolling an incredible five times. There were many who called for the ban to be rescinded but this looked unlikely when Mr Webb stood by his decision to send Caroll off. There have been some reports that West Ham will take the appeal to high court although this is not confirmed.

The Premier League struggler's have already been without their number 9 for the majority of the season, in fact Carroll has only recently returned to the starting line up following a lengthy term on the sidelines. Carroll looks set to miss league games away at Aston Villa and at home to Norwich City and Southampton, three key games in which the £15 million man will be missed.
