50 Rising Stars to watch in the Premier League: No 24 Junior Stanislas
Football.co.uk's countdown continues with yet another product of West Ham's prolific youth academy.
Name: Felix Junior Stanislas
Born: 26 November 1989 (Age: 20)
International Honours: England U21 (2 caps)
Scouted and signed to West Ham's academy at the age of just 10, Stanislas has emerged as yet another promising youngster to have rolled off the Upton Park conveyor belt.
A tricky winger with plenty of pace, Junior rose through the youth ranks and into the reserves before being sent out on loan to League One side Southend United in November 2008.
The move gave him a chance to experience his first taste of senior football, with nine appearances and three goals coming in his six-week spell with the Shrimpers.
He returned to West Ham in January but was forced to wait until March 16th for his first-team debut to arrive when he replaced Savio in a Premier League match against West Bromwich Albion.
Gianfranco Zola awarded him his first start the following month and he repaid the faith shown in him by scoring the opening goal in a 2-0 home win over Sunderland.
After signing a contract to keep him at the club until 2013, Stanislas found himself starting regularly in the absence of injured midfielders Valon Behrami and Jack Collison.
He continued to feature consistently throughout much of the 2009-10 season, scoring two goals in West Ham's controversial League Cup victory over fierce rivals Millwall.
On the international stage Stanislas has represented England at U19, U20 and U21 level but is still looking for his first goal for his country.
