West ham United boss Alan Pardew has begun moves to secure the services of goalkeeper Stephen Bywater for next season.
The 22-year-old suddenly found himself elevated to first choice when David James joined Manchester City in January and has impressed Pardew with the way he has risen to the challenge.
With his current deal due to expire at the end of the season, both club and player are keen to get his future sorted out.
"The manager pulled me in and said we had to sort something out," Bywater told the club's official website.
"My advisors have a meeting arranged this week. Hopefully we can get something sorted out before the end of the season.
"But it is not on my mind anyway, because if you've got nothing then you've got nothing to worry about."
