Hammers tie up Harewood signing

West ham have completed the signing of Nottingham Forest striker Marlon Harewood for an undisclosed fee.

The 24-year-old was out of contract at the City Ground in the summer, having played over 200 games for the club, scoring 55 goals.

This season he had already netted 12 goals for Forest and scored in Saturday's 2-2 draw at Wigan Athletic.

Hammers director Trevor Brooking told the club's official website: "He is a useful addition to the squad and goalscoring has been more of a problem than the defensive side, apart from the West Brom game which we won't dwell on.

"It gives us six strikers and the option to play three up front and the option to score more consistently.

"He was out of contract this summer so it was a good time to go in."
