Hammers set price for Anton

West Ham United have reportedly placed an £8million price tag on the head of Aston Villa target Anton Ferdinand.
The 23-year-old central defender is believed to be interesting Villa boss Martin O'Neill as he looks to bolster his small squad ahead of a possible UEFA Cup campaign next season.
O'Neill has just three centre-halves in Curtis Davies, Zat Knight and Martin Laursen currently on his books.
But the Hammers want £8million for the former England Under-21 international, who came through the ranks at Upton Park.
"West Ham would not be interested in any figure under £8million," claimed a club source.
"They don't want Anton to go but his agent has not been in looking for a new contract so something might happen."
Ferdinand is the younger brother of Manchester United and England defender Rio.
He made his first-team debut in August 2003 and has gone on to make almost 150 appearances for the Hammers.
