Manager Alan Curbishley hopes West Ham United's 2-1 victory over Blackburn Rovers will finally end speculation surrounding his future.
The Hammers snapped a sequence of three successive 4-0 defeats with goals from Dean Ashton and teenage debutant Freddie Sears at Upton Park.
Before the match Curbishley's future had been brought into question, but afterwards the Hammers boss called for his critics to look at the 'bigger picture'.
"It's a big result for us, with everything in the last week," he admitted. "Now we are not far behind Manchester City (in ninth place in the table).
"With the three 4-0s, the pressure and the speculation, we needed to get a result. I wasn't oblivious to that.
"But there is a bigger picture in terms of where the team was a year ago.
"I said to the players that you have to take criticism, whether it's right or wrong. Some of it is right, but I called for the bigger picture."
