West ham goalkeeper Roy Carroll has undergone surgery to cure a back complaint and faces another six weeks on the sidelines.
The 28-year-old Northern Ireland international has only made three appearances since the turn of the year, with Shaka Hislop an able stand-in for Hammers boss Alan Pardew.
He confirmed: "He has had his operation. He's bored but in good spirits and looking forward to coming back. We think that will take six weeks.
"Jimmy Walker is coming right back into shape and will start putting pressure on Shaka soon."
Meanwhile, the Hammers have been linked with a move for Deportivo La Coruna midfielder Aldo Duscher.
The 28-year-old Argentinian has also been a rumoured target for Manchester United, as he seeks a move to England in the summer.
