Roy Hodgson reveals fears of Graham Dorrans injury

In the Baggies: Graham Dorrans is set to miss a chunk of the rest of the season West Brom boss Roy Hodgson fears midfielder Graham Dorrans' ankle injury could be worse than first thought. The Scotland international picked up the problem in training on March 4 and had been pencilled in for a return to action against Liverpool on April 2. Hodgson is still hoping that will be possible but is concerned the injury is not healing as fast as expected. The Baggies boss the club's official website: 'It's far too early to say how bad Dorrans is. It would be wrong to fear-monger. 'Ithought his ankle looked okay before I went away, the swelling had gonedown, but obviously that was me being too optimistic because he is still having problems. 'We are concerned as he still hasn't been able to put any weight on it. We were thinking Liverpool at the earliest and we are still thinkingthat. 'Our medical people will keep an eye on him and if there is no improvement later this week we will scan it again.' Fellow midfielder Youssouf Mulumbu is also struggling with a muscle injury and is a doubt for Saturday's Barclays Premier League clash with Arsenal. Mulumbu had only just recovered from a hamstring problem when he picked up a second injury in West Brom's 3-1 win over Birmingham 10 days ago. Hodgson added: 'He has suffered two muscle injuries, one after the other. We have concerns about him but hope he will train later this week and be fit to play against Arsenal.'  Hodgson confirms coaches Appleton and Downing will stay at West BromBirmingham 1 West Brom 3: Fizz goes flat at St Andrew's for beaten McLeishAs Kolo Toure faces a ban for failing a drugs test, Sportsmail looks back at football's most high-profile drug-related suspensionsAll the latest West Bromwich Albion news, features and opinion  Explore more:People: Roy Hodgson Places: Birmingham, Liverpool, Scotland
