    Robinson pens Albion deal

    28 Aug 2008 - 14:07:19

West Bromwich Albion defender Paul Robinson has signed a new two-year contract with the Premier League newcomers.

The 29-year-old left-back has been at The Hawthorns for five seasons and will now remain until at least the end of the 2009/10 season.

Robinson has made over 200 appearances for the Baggies following his £250,000 arrival from Watford in 2003.

The club's current second longest serving player - behind Neil Clement - was in the final year of his existing deal.

Speaking earlier in the summer, Robinson revealed his hope that he would be rewarded with a new Albion contract.

"My agent has been into the club for a chat and we are now waiting for them to come back to us with an offer," he revealed in June.

"I have worked hard to get where I have and to help the club and I believe I deserve a new contract offer.

"If the club come back with the right offer then I would be happy to sign a new contract."
