West Bromwich Albion have wrapped up the signing Southampton's defensive midfielder Pedro Miguel Pele in a £1million deal.
The 29-year-old Portuguese joined the Saints a year ago from Belenenses as a central defender, but was converted into a midfielder as the season went on.
Baggies boss Tony Mowbray told the club's official website: "We're delighted to have signed a player who caught our eye at Southampton last season.
"Pele will bring experience and quality - both in and out of possession - to our squad.
"His athleticism and passing ability will also increase the competition for places in midfield."
Pele scored once in 44 appearances for Southampton last season as George Burley's side made the play-offs, before losing in the semi-finals to Derby County.
