Mowbray won't change style

West Bromwich Albion manager Tony Mowbray has pledged to remain faithful to his footballing philosophy despite his side's troubles at the foot of the Premier League table.
The Baggies have picked up just 11 points from the first 45 on offer this season while playing the open style of football which led them to the Championship title last term.
Albion have conceded an average of almost two goals a game while scoring less than one themselves.
But despite calls for a change in style, a bullish Mowbray believes his side can dig themselves out of trouble by remaining true to their principles.
"I'm told there's a bit of criticism about 'are we going to change the style of football' but with due respect to the people asking those questions, they don't understand my team, my philosophy, my work. It isn't going to happen," he claimed.
"It's never been attractive football at all costs. I just play the football we play. I've never labelled us 'an attractive football team'. I just try to say, 'This is the way we play'.
"Maybe that label has been stuck on somewhere down the line.
"I like to be consistent in my life as well as my job and, from day one, I do what I do.
"I make demands of my players then people make their opinions. If it's a footballing match, we'll play football. If not, we do what we have to do."
