Mowbray slams Kamara talk
01 May 2007 - 07:48:13
West Brom boss Tony Mowbray has slammed rumours that Diomansy Kamara has asked to leave The Hawthorns.
Mowbray claims the Baggies top-scorer has been unsettled by recent speculation fuelled by his agent, but is adamant the Senegal international - nicknamed 'Joe' - has not asked to leave the Championship play-off hopefuls.
"I would suggest Joe has been playing under a lot of speculation recently," he told the Birmingham Mail.
"But Joe's never mentioned anything to me. I just deal with the football.
"We can't do much about his agent. You sit down with his agent and he's a nice man but he likes talking about what Joe will be doing, even though he has three years left on his deal here.
"I have never had a conversation with Joe where he's told me he wants to leave the club.
"He's a good pro, he works hard in training and wants to win the five-a-sides. I have no problems with him as a man or a footballer."
