Mowbray: No Valero deal yet

West Brom boss Tony Mowbray hopes to sign Borja Valero, but has warned that a deal to sign the Spain midfielder is yet to be completed.

The Baggies have been reported to be close to sealing a £4.75million deal with Real Mallorca for the former Real Madrid youngster for most of the week.

The 23-year-old winger's agent even claimed his client had agreed a four-year contract with the Baggies.

But Mowbray is refusing to contemplate breaking his club's record transfer fee until the move is officially completed.

"The deal is not done,' he said. "I don't want to eulogise about a player who has not signed in case it doesn't happen.

"But it is no secret we admire the player and we'd like to tie something up.

"We've watched him for a while and he has got the technical ability to help our squad."
