Mowbray bids to keep stars
05 Jul 2007 - 09:30:09
West Brom boss Tony Mowbray insists he knows nothing about the possibility of Paul McShane and Paul Robinson moving to Sunderland or Sheffield United's interest in signing veteran striker Kevin Phillips.
The Baggies squad that lost out in the Championship play-off final to Derby County in May is in danger of breaking up, with Diomansy Kamara on the verge of moving to Fulham and Curtis Davies handing in a transfer request.
However, Mowbray is keen to keep as many of last season's squad at The Hawthorns as possible, saying: "I know nothing about Kevin Phillips and Sheffield United, nor McShane and Robinson and Sunderland.
"There certainly hasn't been any contact, but I only want players who are proud to wear the shirt and want to play for their team-mates and supporters."
