Morrison ready for debut

West Bromwich Albion midfielder James Morrison is hoping to make his Scotland debut in the friendly international against South Africa.

The 21-year-old former Middlesbrough schemer had no doubts that he has made the right choice, having played his Under-21s football for England.

Morrison said: "If I didn't think I could compete for a starting place in midfield I wouldn't be here. But it's going to take time to get into the Scottish side.

"There are some great players and I'll have to wait and fight for a place.

"I'm here for football reasons. I love playing football and I want to get to the highest point in my career and international football is at the top.

"I've had a good few months to think about it now. I'm English but I want to kick on my career by playing international football for Scotland."
