Meite's Baggies move back on

Abdoulaye Meite could be moving to West Brom from Bolton Wanderers in a player-swap deal.

The Baggies have had two previous cash bids of £1.25million and £1.5million for the 27-year-old Ivory Coast international rejected by the Trotters.

However, Bolton boss Gary Megson confirmed: "They made a bid and we didn't accept it, but (chairman) Phil (Gartside) got in contact with West Brom and asked whether we could do a straight swap.

"The offer is with them now, so that it where we are with it."

Meite has made 70 appearances for Bolton since arriving from Marseille two years ago.
