Luyindula not joining Albion

West Bromwich Albion manager Tony Mowbray does not expect to reach agreement in his bid to sign France international Peguy Luyindula.

The Paris St Germain striker had been in talks over a loan move to The Hawthorns, but now seems unlikely to be on his way to the Premier League.

Mowbray has already signed Nancy forward Marc-Antoine Fortune during the transfer window after failing to land Benfica's Portugal international striker Ariza Makukula.

Regarding any potential deal for Luyindula, he said: "I would suggest nothing will happen with that one.

"When I look at the strikers we have got in now, I am reasonably happy. There is half a door open for others."

Speaking about the possible impact of Fortune, he added: "I think we have lacked the cutting edge at the top of the pitch and let's hope the change around of a few in that department can spark the team into more goals."
