Koren requires hernia op

West Bromwich Albion midfielder Robert Koren is set to be sidelined for nearly a month due to a groin injury which requires surgery.

The 29-year-old Slovenia international was forced to miss the 4-0 weekend victory at Sheffield Wednesday and will not be back in action for several weeks.

Baggies boss Roberto Di Matteo confirmed: "Robert will need an operation. He's got a hernia in his groin area and he'll be out for three to four weeks."

Koren joined Albion in January 2007 and has since scored 15 goals in 125 appearances in all competitions for the club.
