Good news on injury front

Quartet fit to face Liverpool Roy Hodgson has been given a boost ahead of Saturday’s game against Liverpool (KO 3pm) with the news that Paul Scharner, James Morrison, Peter Odemwingie and Youssouf Mulumbu are all fit. Midfielders Scharner and Morrison had been struggling with head injuries sustained during the 2-2 draw against Arsenal with Odemwingie and Mulumbu having muscular strains. But all four have now returned to training with Graham Dorrans also set to increase his rehabilitation from a twisted ankle. "Peter is okay, he came back and trained yesterday, as did Mulumbu - it was good to have them back,” said the former Liverpool boss. "They've got a day off to rest, which they probably need as they both travelled. "Morrison stayed back an extra day before travelling to join up with Scotland. "He had the stitches out on Monday. "It's a nasty wound and he now has a big black eye because the blood has come down from the wound. "He looks worse than he is, but he's fit and trained yesterday." Fellow Scotland international Dorrans went for a scan on his injured ankle earlier in the week following a delay in his progression. But after the results came back clear, Dorrans has now started light training with the physio. "Graham is improving," Hodgson added. "It's positive but we can't put a date on his return. "At the end of last week it looked less positive than now, which is good news. "In the space of three days we're stepping in the right direction. "But we don't quite know when he'll be back. "It was quite a serious ankle ligament injury. "He is walking better and jogging but the medical staff are being circumspect with him because we don't want him to go back into training and then break down again. "We're being very careful with him - but he is looking good." Can Albion's returning players make the difference against Liverpool? Have your say on Baggies Banter here.
