Double deal boosts Baggies
15 Aug 2007 - 17:01:09
West Bromwich Albion have sealed the signings of Sheffield Wednesday winger Chris Brunt and Manchester City forward Ishmael Miller.
Twenty-two-year-old Northern Ireland international Brunt joins in a £3million deal from the Owls, putting pen to paper on a four-year contract with the Baggies.
Albion boss Tony Mowbray told the club's official website: "Chris has undoubted, proven quality at this level and brings a cultured left foot to the squad.
"He will hopefully supply plenty of ammunition for our strikers and chip in with a few goals himself.
"He's a welcome addition to the squad and will increase competition for places in an area where we feel we already have a lot of quality."
Meanwhile, Miller, 20, joins on a season-long loan, with a view to a permanent deal if he impresses.
Mowbray added: "Ishmael will give us a different option up front.
"He's a big, quick, powerful lad who is looking for an opportunity to play more regularly."
