Davies sets return target
04 Sep 2006 - 10:38:47
West Bromwich Albion defender Curtis Davies is hopeful of returning to action from a broken foot within six weeks.
The club skipper suffered the injury during last week's 2-0 defeat at Sunderland to give Baggies boss Bryan Robson a huge selection headache as he bids to get his side back up to the Premiership at the first attempt.
However Davies, who was linked with a move to a host of top flight clubs during the summer, does not intend to be out for too long.
He told Albion TV: "I think six weeks is our aim to look for full training. If we can manage that I'll be happy.
"It's hard because it's not an injury where you can rush it back, it just needs to heal itself because it's a bone.
"It's just a waiting game and see how it reacts in the next four weeks and hopefully after that I'll be back sooner rather than later.
"No-one wants to come back for one game and then be out for another six weeks. I don't think that's good for me or the club. If we get it right now we should be okay."
