    Davies okay to stay

    15 Jan 2007 - 09:12:23

West Bromwich Albion captain Curtis Davies says he is content to stay put at The Hawthorns for the rest of the season, despite interest from a number of Premiership clubs.

The 21-year-old is a target for the likes of Spurs, Arsenal and Aston Villa, but Davies says he is not worried about the speculation.

He commented: "I'm under the impression that I'm not being sold and that's what I was told when I signed my new contract.

"Now the transfer window has come around, I keep getting asked 'what will happen?'.

"I always say it's out of my hands and I'm not going to sulk and shout about it if I don't get a move.

"If the club accepts a bid, I'll worry about it then. I'm the captain here, proud of that honour and I'll get on with my game."

Davies joined the Baggies in the summer of 2005 from Luton Town and has scored twice in 61 appearances for Albion.
