D-day for injured Gaardsoe
02 Nov 2006 - 11:41:43
West Bromwich Albion defender Thomas Gaardsoe will make a decision on his future by January according to Baggies boss Tony Mowbray.
The 26-year-old has not kicked a ball since suffering a serious groin injury in February and has been warned that his only option might be to retire.
"He can't keep going on like this for another year or two years," Mowbray told the club's official website.
"He's got to make a decision and I would think before Christmas or New Year, Thomas will make a decision whether he'll push on or not.
"Every football club has a responsibility to give a player the chance to get fit. It's been a long time for Thomas now.
"There are concerns from him and the club, but he'll be given the opportunity to get himself fit to play for the football club again."
