Cech handed olive branch

West Brom manager Tony Mowbray insists Marek Cech still has a future at The Hawthorns.

The 26-year-old Slovakia international was linked with a move away from Albion in this month's transfer window after growing frustrated at his lack of first-team action.

Cech has made only four starts for the Baggies this term following last summer's arrival from FC Porto.

However, Mowbray said: "It's probably not the time or place for me to discuss one individual player's future, but he isn't getting chased out of our club by me.

"I'd be delighted if he stays here, because he gives us excellent cover in certain positions on the pitch, where it isn't easy to find good players.

"Yet the boy doesn't want to be cover, he wants to play every week. We'll wait and see what his future holds."

Despite reported interest from Napoli and Ipswich Town, Mowbray insists he has received no bids for a player he paid £1.4million for just six months ago.
