Carson eyes Great Escape

Scott Carson still believes West Brom can pull off a second Great Escape in four years this season.

The goalkeeper thinks the Baggies will stay up if they can win five of their last eight games of the season, so replicating the last-day drama of the 2004-05 campaign when Albion survived.

Carson said: "I've been through it before at Charlton. I've had the experience and it isn't a nice feeling, getting relegated.

"I've just been trying to help the lads and tell them what it's like and we're doing our best to keep in the Premier League. You try to keep going.

"We're going to need four or five wins to stay up but stranger things have happened. We'll continue to work as hard as we have been and just hope we get a bit of luck.

"The dressing room is full of good characters. It's a good dressing room to be in.

"I wasn't here for the 'Great Escape' of four or five years ago but the lads who were - like Paul Robinson and Jonathan Greening - said it was a great experience.

"It would be nice for rest of lads to share the experience by doing it again this season."
