Carson eyes England recall

West Bromwich Albion's new goalkeeper Scott Carson is hoping to find top form quickly for the Baggies and regain his place in the England set-up.

The 22-year-old spent the last two seasons on loan at Aston Villa and Charlton Athletic, having struggled to secure first-team football with Liverpool.

However, Carson is hoping to become more settled after sealing a £3.25million move to The Hawthorns by signing a three-year contract.

Carson said: "I just want to get settled now. I've been like a nomad for the last three or four years, going out on loan to three different clubs from Liverpool.

"It will be good to get some roots down and hopefully settle. I can see myself being here for four or five years, even longer than that.

"That's what I want. I did not want to go somewhere and then, after one or two years, not be happy.

"I think I am good enough to get back in the England squad. Hopefully I can settle down and get a bit of consistency and then I will be looking to get back in."
