Brunt praises strong Fortune
01 May 2009 - 15:33:38
Modest West Brom winger Chris Brunt says Marc-Antoine Fortune has done much to help him score four goals in the last three matches.
The Frenchman has failed to find the net himself in his last nine Albion appearances but Brunt thinks the 27-year-old's unselfish play is helping the team as a whole.
The former Sheffield Wednesday star said: "He's a strong guy and he's good for me to play with, especially coming in from the right because I can play things in to his feet and follow it in to goalscoring areas.
"Because he's such a strong lad he holds the ball up well. He's been a big part of the system we're playing as well because of the physical side of his game.
"No disrespect to the other strikers we've got at the club, but he's the only player that can play that role for us at the minute.
"It's worked well. The results haven't always been there to show it for us but we're going in the right direction, performance-wise."
