Baggies close in on keeper Myhill
30 Jul 2010 - 14:18:42
West Bromwich Albion have made a £1.5million bid for Wales international goalkeeper Boaz Myhill, who currently plays for financially-stricken Hull City.
The Tigers are desperate to reduce their wage-bill following their relegation from the Premier League and boss Nigel Pearson admits that Myhill may have to be sold.
He told the Hull Daily Mail: "The situation is we have had an offer in.
"With the position the club is in we obviously have to consider every offer. We have also got a good keeper already on the staff in Matt Duke.
"Obviously we would need to replace Boaz, but the position with the club, and the fact we owe a lot of money to other clubs, puts us under some pressure to raise cash this summer.
"All we have raised so far is the cash off the two Wolves moves (Stephen Hunt and Steven Mouyokolo), so it puts you under pressure to look at these deals carefully."
