West Brom boss Tony Mowbray has continued his preparations for life in the Premier League by snapping up the FC Porto left-back Marek Cech in a £1.4million deal.
The 25-year-old Slovakia international has penned a three-year contract with the Baggies.
He held talks with Albion last week and underwent a medical before the transfer was finalised.
Cech has represented his country on 27 occasions and has spent the last three years with FC Porto having previously played for Inter Bratislava in his homeland and Sparta Prague.
Meanwhile, Albion are reported to have made a late bid to sign Liverpool goalkeeper Scott Carson, even though the England international is still expected to seal a switch to Stoke City.
