Albion shelve Majewski move
23 Jul 2008 - 07:16:52
West Bromwich Albion boss Tony Mowbray says his club are unlikely to complete a swoop for Polish midfielder Radoslaw Majewski.
The 21-year-old is rated in the £2million bracket by his current club, Groclin Dyskobolia, with Mowbray feeling that that is too high a price-tag.
He told the Birmingham Mail: "Majewski is a young player who, if it was to be done, would really only be coming in as part of the underbelly of the club.
"He is a talented young boy, but more for tomorrow rather than today.
"I want to concentrate on the first team for the moment and look at what needs addressing.
"Let's see what these players cost because the cost at times is higher than the valuations we have.
"We don't want to spend big money on players that won't have an immediate impact, because we might have to spend a bit more money on a player than we had anticipated to get him."
