West Brom manager Bryan Robson has tipped Diomansy Kamara to be a success at The Hawthorns despite the Senegal international's inconsistent start to life with Albion.
The 25-year-old, who spent last season on loan at Portsmouth, has failed to score for Robson's side in his eight Premiership appearances so far this term.
However, the Baggies boss is impressed with the winger's overall displays, saying: "He's a real threat.
"He got a penalty at Bolton and should have had another one while down at Fulham his movement and pace opened things up.
"At West ham he could have scored two himself. But we like his attitude around the club. Mentally he's strong and he wants to win.
"After the game on Saturday he was so down because he felt he'd let his team-mates down after missing our two best chances.
"He needs more goals with the chances he's creating but if he gets that right then he'll be a real asset to the club.
"Only time will tell how good he will be - we'll see over the long-term how good a signing he is for this club but he has a lot of potential. He's quick, he's direct and he can score goals."
