Senegal striker Diomansy Kamara has told the West Brom board he wants to leave the club in January.
The 25-year-old has struggled for form and fitness since joining the Baggies from Modena in a £1.5million deal in the summer of 2005, scoring just three times in 27 league outings.
He still believes he is too good to play in the Championship and wants to move to a Premiership or Serie A club as soon as possible.
Kamara said: "The transfer window opens in January and I have agreed with the chairman (Jeremy Peace) that I can leave if the club do not look like going up.
"Let's see what happens between now and January."
