Zola impressed with debutants

West Ham manager Gianfranco Zola took heart from the performance of his three debutant strikers following the 2-1 defeat to Burnley at Turf Moor. Substitute Ilan scored on his first appearance for the club just four minutes after replacing Mark Noble. And fellow new-boys Benni McCarthy and Mido also impressed, although the former was withdrawn at half-time with a knee injury. Zola said: "I thought Benni tried very hard and had an opportunity then he had a problem with his knee. "I thought Mido was excellent and Ilan also came on and scored so that is encouraging."
