Zola eyes top eight

West Ham boss Gianfranco Zola insists that a top-eight finish remains his target this season. The Hammers finished eighth last season in Zola's first season in charge. However, despite restrictions on his finances Zola is still hopeful he can guide the Hammers to a similar standing this term. "We are trying to improve on where we finished last year," he told Sky Sports News. "We finished eighth last season and so we are trying to finish eighth and then improve. "It wont be easy, you have teams like Aston villa, Everton, Fulham, Manchester City and Tottenham all challenging at the top. "So it is not going to be an easy task but we are up for it."
