WORLD CUP 2010: Matthew Upson to partner John Terry in England defence against Slovenia

Matthew Upson will partner John Terry at the heart of England's defence against Slovenia on Wednesday.[LNB]Manager Fabio Capello has turned to the West Ham centre-half as Jamie Carragher is suspended.[LNB][LNB] Getting ready: Upson is put through his paces during training on Monday[LNB] [LNB]Capello's change of plans England will train at their Rustenburg base on Tuesday ahead of facing Slovenia in Port Elizabeth. [LNB]Fabio Capello has been forced to revise his plans after being told the playing surface at the Nelson Mandela Bay stadium is not strong enough for two sides to train on in 24 hours.[LNB]Capello immediately signalled a preference to remain at their Royal Bafokeng base and with FIFA finally sorting out flights which allow England to leave at 4pm and arrive in time for a 6.45pm press conference, their plans have now been finalised.  [LNB]Liverpool's Carragher was booked in the 1-1 draw with the USA and against Algeria on Friday night and serves a one-match ban.[LNB]'Upson will play because he always played with John Terry and I probably will change some others,' Capello told the BBC. [LNB]Upson was given the nod over uncapped Michael Dawson.
