Widdowson hopes for Mariners return

Joe Widdowson is hoping to be back at Grimsby next season once he has resolved his future with West Ham.[LNB]The 20-year-old defender enjoyed a fruitful loan spell with the Mariners at the end of the season, making 20 appearances as they successfully managed to avoid relegation.[LNB]And with Widdowson accepting his time at Upton Park is over, he is keen to get a move to Lincolnshire sorted as soon as possible.[LNB]"I'm going to go back there next week but I don't think I'll be there next season," he told Grimsby's official website. "I want to go out and be playing first-team games so hopefully I'll be back here next season which will be great.[LNB]"The gaffer spoke to me and said he's quite keen for me to stay and I'm very keen so hopefully I'll be back.[LNB]"I've had a great time here. I've loved it."
