West Ham United v Barnsley: Preview

07 January 2011 20:02
West Ham manager Avram Grant is set to reshuffle his team for tomorrow's FA Cup third-round tie.

Youngsters Zavon Hines, who came off the bench in Wednesday's 5-0 defeat at Newcastle, and Jordan Spence could both feature against Barnsley at Upton Park.

Mark Noble is fit again after a hip injury but on-loan defender Tal Ben Haim has returned to Portsmouth.

Thomas Hitzlsperger has returned to training after a long-term thigh problem and he could be back in action by mid-February.

Barnsley's on-loan defender Matt Hill has been given permission to play.

The Tykes have received confirmation from Hill's parent club Wolves and the left-back will retain his place in Mark Robins' starting line-up.

Robins has no new injury or suspension problems for the third-round tie and is not expected to make too many changes following Monday's 2-1 home win over Coventry.

Striker Garry O'Connor returned to the side against Coventry following his permanent move from Birmingham and he is expected to start again with Andy Gray on the bench.

Winger Adam Hammill shook off a knock to play the full 90 minutes on Monday and will continue, while Jacob Butterfield, Jim O'Brien and Hugo Colace are all pushing for first-team recalls.
