West Ham reveal intervention of sponsors helped deadline signings

Gianfranco Zola unveiled new recruits £6 million striker Alessandro Diamanti, 26, and central defender Manuel Da Costa at the club's Chadwell Heath training ground today. We are going to try everything possible to match that with what we are doing.' [LNB]Zola claims to have been impressed with his new signings, adding: 'The first impressions of Alessandro and Manuel are very positive.
