West Ham United have started their January transfer winow trade by bringing in huge Ivorian striker Lacina Traore for the remainder of the season from Monaco. The giant striker will join up with his new teamates after agreeing to leave Anzhi in the Russian League for Monaco. Despite officially being a Monacoplayer he has agreed to sign a loan deal at Upton Pak for the remainder of the season - if he gains a work permit.

Once rated at £16 million he was heavily linked with Liverpool and Juventus just a couple of summers ago after impressing at Anzhi. Last season he scored 13 goals in 18 games but has stuggled for form this season, playing just 5 times. 'Big Sam' Allardyce seems to have acted very quickly after a board meeting ysterday concerning the club's transfer action's in the January window. The Hammers have won just once in their last 14 league games and an injury crisis at the club means they have a limited team to work with so it is no surprise that the East London side have started early in this window.
