West Ham are set to be priced out of a move for Siena right back Juan Zuniga. The Hammers have been tracking the 23-year-old Colombia international but interest from Schalke has driven up his asking price to more than £7.4million. West Ham, who will have to assess their spending plans after settling a £25m compensation with Sheffield United over the Carlos Tevez affair, were already battling interest from Fiorentina, Palermo, AC Milan and Sevilla for the attack-minded full back. But Schalke have now emerged as the favourites for his summer signature. The Bundesliga club are set to sell Brazil right back Rafinha, 23, to either Juventus or Bayern Munich for £9.2m and see Zuniga as a perfect replacement. Rafinha has previously been linked with Liverpool, though the Reds now appear to be happy with Alvaro Arbeloa. Schalke have disappointed this season and are struggling to qualify for Europe. Zuniga admitted he is flattered by the interest. 'It is nice to see in the newspapers my name linked to the big clubs in Italy and abroad.'
