Life-saving surgery: Calum Davenport[LNB] West Ham sources have admitted they will not know whether knife attack victim Calum Davenport will play again until he is given the green light to start running once more.[LNB]Davenport has a 15-inch scar on his leg after undergoing life-saving surgery following the attack in August. He has been doing light training and plenty of swimming to build up his fitness.[LNB]But, although doctors are optimistic that he will eventually play again, the acid test will not come until he is allowed to run before resuming full training with his team-mates, who he visited last week.[LNB]Doctors had to cut through muscle to repair the damage to Davenport's artery and he is unlikely to feature for West Ham this season.[LNB] West Ham 2 Arsenal 2: Late Alessandro Diamanti penalty denies Arsene Wenger a birthday win as Gunners throw away two-goal lead Gianfranco Zola keen for West Ham to continue chasing investment [LNB] [LNB]  Explore more:People:Calum Davenport
