West Ham co-owner David Gold insists they will not sack Avram Grant

Absent: West Ham boss  Grant will not be at Stoke [LNB]West Ham manager Avram Grant has been assured his job is safe as manager at Upton Park.[LNB]Club co-owner David Gold has no intention of showing Grant the door despite the Hammers losing their opening fourth Premier League games.[LNB]But Gold insists  there are no plans to part company with the former Chelsea and Portsmouth boss.[LNB]Grant will not be in attendance for West Ham's game against Stoke thisweekend as he observes the Jewish Holy Day of Yom Kippur. [LNB]Gold told The Sun: 'It's four games against clubs who we took two points off last term so we're just behind.'This will be called a vote of confidence but I assure you it is a proper vote of confidence.'Against one of the world's best, Chelsea, we saw a spiritedperformance which we can build on. Avram is safe.
