WBA won't sell Dorrans - yet

TEAMtalk's Simon Wilkes says West Ham need to look elsewhere for a new midfielder - as West Brom will not sell Graham Dorrans this summer.[LNB] Avram Grant needs to drop his interest in Dorrans - as the Baggies will not sell him for any price this summer.[LNB]The Upton Park outfit have so far had three bids for the Scotland midfielder rejected out of hand by Albion - and they'll snub their advances all summer long if the Londoners refuse to get the message.[LNB]Dorrans was a bargain-buy capture from Livingston in July 2008, arriving at The Hawthorns for just £100,000.[LNB]Offers of £4million, £4.5million and now £5.5million have been faxed through to Albion - but they've all gone in the shredder and will continue to do so as Dorrans is under contract until 2014 and is the heartbeat of Roberto Di Matteo's long-term plans for the club.[LNB]Last season the 23-year-old was the first name on the team sheet and took over the playmaker mantle from Jonathan Greening following his season-long loan move to Fulham.[LNB]Dorrans thrived on the responsibility of orchestrating Albion's attacks, and chipped in with 13 league goals - many of them winning ones - as well as setting up a large number of their 89 Championship goals.[LNB]The Baggies have yo-yoed between England's top-two divisions for the last nine seasons - but that has seen millions of Premier League pounds pouring into the club's coffers, meaning they're in a strong financial position.[LNB]Chairman Jeremy Peace keeps things tight but is a shrewd player in the transfer market - and has struck several big-money deals over the years (£10million for Curtis Davies, £6million for Diomansy Kamara, £5.3million for Jason Koumas to name a few).[LNB]Now is not the time to sell Dorrans, who could well have a career-defining campaign if he can reproduce last season's dazzling form on the Premier League stage.[LNB]Realistically Albion could well be back in the Championship this time next year - whether Dorrans dazzles or not - but that would be the time to cash in on the Scotsman, as his stock is likely to be even higher by then.
