Viola eye Upson

Italian side Fiorentina are the latest club to be linked with West Ham and England centre-back Matthew Upson. The Hammers are understood to be aware of the interest from the Serie A side but would only be willing to sell the 30-year-old defender for an offer they deem suitable or to a Champions League team. James Collins, however, could be sold before the transfer window shuts on Tuesday. Everton boss David Moyes and Aston Villa's Martin O'Neill watched the draw against Blackburn and West Ham are waiting to see if either club will bid for the centre-back. Gianfranco Zola would use the money to fund a deal for another striker, with Alessandro Diamanti arriving from Livorno last week. There is still hope of a deal for Bordeaux forward Marouane Chamakh.
